Cleaning the Glass
Use any window cleaner to clean the glass surface of Oasis
products. To clean exterior glass surfaces of your Oasis window or Patio door,
simply rinse with warm water and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use cleaners
containing ammonia or abrasive cleaners.
Oasis recommends that you do not apply any films to the
glass in your windows or doors. Every Oasis product features double-insulating
glass, and films can cause excessive heat build-up between the glass panes,
which can lead to cracks or seal failure.
Cleaning Drainage Systems
Highly effective weep systems have been engineered into
all Oasis window products to allow for water drainage. Please keep weepholes
clean and clear so that water drains to the outside as designed. To ensure
proper operation, keep the sill of your windows free of dust and periodically
clean your weepholes with a small soft bottlebrush.
Cleaning Screens
To clean Oasis screens, simply hose them off with water.
Do not use aerosol cleaning agents on screens, as certain propellants in the
cleaners can cause damage to the molded corner parts.
Lubricating Metallic Parts
Oasis products require very little maintenance. In fact
they typically require no lubrication. In rare cases where conditions do require
lubrication of metallic parts*, Oasis recommends that you use light machine oil
sparingly.
Metallic
parts that may require lubrication include operable cranks on casement models or
rollers on sliding patio doors.
Cleaning the Vinyl
Airborne contaminants and dirt should also be removed from
the vinyl frames and sashes of your windows periodically. You’ll find that
Oasis’s special-formula, premium-grade vinyl cleans beautifully with any mild
detergent or even just soapy water.
Caution:
Never use
petroleum-based cleaners or caustic chemicals on the vinyl
Vinyl windows and doors are almost maintenance free than the most
exterior building products.
They may become dirty as does a freshly painted house or a new automobile or
any other product, which is exposed to atmospheric conditions.
With very little effort, you can keep your vinyl window and door frames
beautiful. In most cases a heavy rain is sufficient to clean them.
Avoid washing windows with high-pressure spray. If the rain does not do a
satisfactory job, follow these simple instructions.
MAINTENANCE
Wash using a soft cloth or ordinary long handled soft bristle brush.
Normally use warm water and domestic washing fluids.
For difficult to remove dirt and stains such as top soil, motor oil, lithium
grease, crayon, felt-tip pen, caulking, lipstick, grass, bubble gum, mold
and mildew, use the readily available household cleaners listed here. Follow
manufacturer's instructions to use those cleaners.
In some cases you may wish to use a mildly abrasive cleaners, such as Soft
Scrub®, Ajax®, Bon Ami® etc., but the use of any abrasive material could have
negative effect on the surface of glass and window or door frames.
Do not use cleaners containing aggressive organic solvents because they
could affect the surface appearance of the vinyl. Examples of such cleaners
are chlorine bleach, liquid grease remover, strong soaps and detergents
containing solvents, nail polish removers and furniture polish/cleaners.
